Good Ol’ Fashioned Annual Meeting Around the Corner
Cooperative annual meeting set for Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. will highlight DMEA’s 2022 achievements and offer a night of country-western revelry.
May 22, 2023 — Cowboy boots, card games, and country music are just a few of the activities that co-op members will enjoy at Delta-Montrose Electric Association’s (DMEA) upcoming Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 15, 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the Cedaredge High School (575 SE Deer Creek Dr., Cedaredge, CO).
DMEA’s 2023 Annual Meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. for member registration and voting for the annual Board of Directors election. DMEA sent mail-in ballots to its membership last week, and members can cast their votes by returning their mail-in ballot, dropping off a completed ballot at DMEA’s Montrose office (11925 6300 Rd., Montrose, CO) until Wednesday, June 14, at noon, or by voting in person at the annual meeting between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. The election will officially conclude at 5:30 p.m. when DMEA calls to order the business meeting portion of the event.
“I’m looking forward to my first DMEA annual meeting and speaking with our members about DMEA’s achievements over the past year. We’ve made phenomenal progress on Elevate’s fiber network, yet another year building more than 200 miles of new fiber throughout our communities. At DMEA, rates remained steady for a third consecutive year and are some of the lowest in the state" said Jack Johnston, DMEA Chief Executive Officer. "It’s a year worth celebrating – I hope you’ll join us!”
DMEA will also provide a free BBQ dinner of pulled pork or smoked sausage from Delta-based Dented Face Brewing and handmade pies for dessert from Sugar Mamas’ Bakeshop and Cafe in Cedaredge. Dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until the business meeting begins. It will also be available after the meeting for members to enjoy, along with live music by the Ghost River Band, gaming tables by Casino Nights Party Rental and Services, a western photo booth, and kids’ games and crafts.
Attendees will also be able to win excellent door prizes, including a locally-made electric bike from Paonia-based Optibike. Elevate Internet is also providing a PlayStation 5 full-home setup, including a PS5 gaming station, headset, extra controller, games, and a PS5 virtual reality set.
