Elevate Finalizes Acquisition of Delta County Tele-Comm from TDS Telecommunications, LLC

MONTROSE, Colo.—Elevate, a subsidiary of Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA), has officially acquired Delta County Tele-Comm, Inc. from TDS Telecommunications, LLC (TDS®). This milestone advances Elevate’s mission to provide reliable, high-speed internet across DMEA’s entire service area.
First announced in February, the acquisition includes transferring Delta County Tele-Comm, Inc.’s network infrastructure, customer accounts, and operational responsibilities to Elevate. Over the past several months, both companies have worked collaboratively to prepare for this transfer of ownership. They are equally committed to ensuring a smooth transition over the next 4-6 months for existing customers. TDS will continue handling billing and customer service during the transition, giving time to switch over systems for billing, customer records, and equipment setup.
“We’re excited to welcome TDS customers to the Elevate community,” said Jack Johnston, President of Elevate. “This acquisition strengthens our ability to serve Delta County with the fast, dependable internet and local support our customers have come to expect.”
Elevate assures customers that no immediate action is required and is focused on ensuring a seamless transition. Customers will receive information from Elevate about services, billing, and what to anticipate moving forward.
“This isn’t just about expanding our network—it’s about investing in Delta County’s future,” Johnston added. “We’re committed to connecting our communities with locally-owned internet that’s not only fast and reliable but also supported by the local people who live and work here.”
Committed to bringing a new standard of reliable technology and customer service to the world of high-speed internet, Elevate was established in 2016 to provide affordable high-speed broadband service over a dependable fiber-optic network in Delta and Montrose counties. Elevate offers Colorado's most dependable, locally owned fiber optic network.
TDS, a Madison, Wisconsin-based company, has more than 1.1 million customer connections in the U.S. and has been doing business in Colorado since 1991.
