DMEA Opens 2026 Board Petitions for Candidacy

Delta-Montrose Electric Association (DMEA) will open board petitions for candidacy for members interested in serving on its Board of Directors. Beginning March 6, 2026, eligible members may submit their information to run in the 2026 Board of Directors election.
DMEA is a member-owned rural electric cooperative governed by a nine-member, democratically elected board. Each year, members elect three local representatives to help guide the cooperative’s strategic direction, establish policies, and make decisions in the best interests of the membership.
In 2026, seats representing District 6, District 7, and the North Region are up for election. Members whose primary residence is located within one of these areas are eligible to run. To confirm district eligibility, members can visit dmea.com/service-area.
A full list of director qualification requirements is available in DMEA’s Bylaws (Article 4, Section 4.3) at dmea.com/governing-documents.
To begin the petition for candidacy process, interested members must submit their information online at dmea.com/board-petition starting March 6. Once membership is verified, candidates will receive a petition for candidacy and signature petition. Completed forms must include at least 30 valid member signatures.
Voting will open May 15, and results will be announced at DMEA’s Annual Meeting on June 18.
