Notice of Change to Tariffs and Fees December 2022
DMEA proposes to make the following changes in its tariffs/fees, to become effective December 1, 2022
You are hereby notified that DMEA proposes to make the following changes in its tariffs/fees, to become effective December 1, 2022:
Delta-Montrose Electric Association proposes the following changes to its Rate Tariff 4 (Industrial - Distribution Voltage - 12 kV rate):
In particular, the proposed changes would introduce a Standby Demand Charge of $12.29 per kW, which would apply to industrial members having behind-the-meter DMEA-approved qualifying cogeneration facilities under federal law and not limited in size by DMEA’s Net Metering Policy. Interconnection of generation is subject to DMEA’s Interconnection Policies and approval. This Standby Demand Charge is calculated based on the kW as shown by or computed from the readings of DMEA’s meter for the 30-minute period of generation output during the applicable Member Demand Charge period. This represents the capacity the DMEA system would be covering if the cogeneration facility is offline.
Additional updates to Rate Tariff 4 include clarifying language to the definitions of Access Fee, Energy Charge, and the Member Demand Charge, as outlined below:
Access Fee: Per-meter fee for recovery of fixed costs required for electric service, regardless of the amount of energy purchased.
Energy Charge: Reflects cost DMEA incurs related to obtaining energy used by DMEA members.
Member Demand Charge: The kW as shown by or computed from the readings of the association’s meter for the 30-minute period of member’s greatest use during the month. This charge is part of the cost of maintaining DMEA’s utility infrastructure required to deliver service.
A hearing, final authorization and documentation of the proposed changes will be made at the regular meeting of the Board ofDirectors to be held on November 15, 2022, at 4:30 p.m., at 11925 6300 Road, Montrose, Colorado.
Anyone desiring to comment on the proposed changes may file written comments with the Association, at 11925 6300 Road, Montrose, CO 81401, at least one (1) day before the Board of Directors' meeting date referred to above. Members may also make their comments at the Board of Directors’ meeting at the date referred to above.
The changes ultimately authorized may or may not be the same as those proposed. Members are encouraged to share their comments with the Board of Directors so that the Board might make an informed decision.
